Rockaway Beach
Rockaway, QueensThere were sharks in the water, so we had to wait for them to leave before we could swim. Had a beef arepa and a frozen white sangria.

I liked not being allowed to take photos in most of the galleries. My favorite pieces might have been JBC Corot's The Lake, and Van Dyck's Frans Snyders and Portrait of a Genoise Noblewoman.
I will order corn nibblets as long as it's on a menu. Really enjoyed the scallops too, which I don't usually order.
I liked the innovative set, and the pair was charismatic. When we walked back out into Times Square it was like getting a New York double-overdose.
Joined a Food Distribution session—it was very easy to sign up. Was in charge of rice and lentils. There's something hypnotic and soothing about being on an assembly line.
Really great dancing and performing, plus I loved the set and the band. Several songs were burned into my brain from the movie version. Why do I always prefer Velma Kelly?
During the World Cup there were crowds lining up since 9am to enter. Really lively. That whole area around the Vessel was buzzing.
God, this play. I was told the acting would be fantastic, and I think it still exceeded my expectations. Shook by Laurie Metcalfe specifically, though everyone was great. Mad about how good Arthur Miller is.
I'm picky about Filipino food but this was tasty. Get the sisig and laing. We went on karaoke night — loud (like, really loud) but fun. I sang A Whole New World impromptu with my friend.
Watched Montreal Ma Belle at the Fransesca Beale Theater, as part of the New York Asian Film Festival. I'm grateful that movie exists. I described it to a friend as All Fours x Heated Rivalry. What a great role for Joan Chen.
